Hove’s Thursday Coral.co.uk Hurdle belongs to Glenashe Rock
Glenashe Rock, trained by J. Foster, powered his way to victory in Thursday’s Coral.co.uk Hurdle at Hove. The black dog lived up to his high reputation, and did not let other contestants spoil his party.
After going away quickly, Hondo Black’s son, out of Meath Girl ran superbly on the inside rail of the track. His fast and furious speed earned him a reasonable lead, which the rampant hound retained till the wire.
The veteran hound dominated the affair all the way through, taking an emphatic 2 ¾ lengths triumph. By clocking the area in just 30.75 seconds, he collected a cash prize of £150.
The second position belonged to J. Foster’s another trained dog, Whiterock Champ. Although, he also made the best use of the rails, getting crowded early on hampered his chances.
The black and white dog covered the area in 30.97 seconds, grabbing the runner-up place by. It was a good performance by Whiterock Champ –with the odds of 14 to 1.
Baran Bally Hi managed to finish among the first three on the chart. The black dog is the son of Tyrur Ted out, of Druids Judicial, was lucky to end up third after hitting the first hurdle.
Despite K. Findlay's trainee not letting his speed go down, he made it to the finishing line in 31.03 seconds. With the starting price of 6 to 4, he began his action from the sixth trap.
Aero Bolt also got crowded in the middle, finishing fourth in the list. His running time was 31.15 seconds, 1 ½ lengths adrift of Baran Bally Hi.
At the first bend, the R. Holloway-trained dog, holding the odds of 6 to 1, got crowded. He quickly got himself out of the mess, but again got crowded at the third bend.
The fifth and the last position went to Siege Of Venice, who was carrying the winning possibility of 25 to 1 – the lowest in the competition.
After hitting the first hurdle, the black dog could not recover, wrapping up the event in 31.29 seconds.
It was a fourth consecutive win for Glenashe Rock. J. Foster would have been pretty delighted with his trainee’s effort, as he has been achieving good results consistently.
