How 2 build neck muscles for football?

im playing football this year and im doin linebacker but i want a stronger neck so i wont hurt my neck much when i go in 4 tackles. anyone know any tips or exercises?

  1. Most gyms have neck exercises machines.  I like the shoulder shrug suggestion.  You can wear neck roll.

  3. i play football to . a good way to build neck musilce is to use a 10-20 pound barbel hold them and shrug ur shoulders.

  5. Go out for wrestling 2......wrestlers have some of the best neck muscles they need them......If you don't want to go out for the team see if you can get in a few practices with them. I have seen wrestlers hold up all of their weight plus the weight of their  opponent to avoid a pin. Talk to a wrestling coach they should be able to help you.

  6. Like the guy said above me do sruggs, That's when you have a dumb bell in each hand and roll your shoulders. But if you use 10 to 20 pounds it will just jet the muscles toned, use as much weight as you can, and when that wieght gets easy to do, add more wieght. What i mean by that is, if you can do 4 sets of ten, then move up in wieght, and repeat the process. If you do this you will get a huge neck. the main things is, is to stay with it. Military press also would help the neck as well as the shoulders. Again, fallow the same workout as above, always add more wieght as you get stronger, it may make you grunt and scream, but you will get huge. NO PAIN NO GAIN

  7. Shrugging will help your traps, but if you really want to build NECK muscles, have someone resist your head, and push towards it.
