  1. If you are asking how to study for an exam, the second answerer has good advice.

Some other things you may need to do:

    1.  Take good notes in class.  If the instructor repeats a statement, underline it in your notes.  He repeated it for a reason.

    2.  Read all chapters assigned.  Take notes.

    3.  Participate in class by asking and answering questions.

    4.  Re-read all your notes after class to set the information in your memory.

    5.  Starting a couple of days before the exam re-read all your notes.  If it is possible re-read each chapter to refresh your memory.

To be a smart exam taker (this is for multiple-choice questions and fill-in the blank questions.)

    1.   Go through all the questions and immediately answer the ones you absolutely know the answer to

    2.   Go back and answer the ones you think you know, some times the other questions can give you a clue to this particular question.

    3.   Go back again and answer to the best of your ability the questions you are not sure about at all.

If it is an essay exam, on the back list all the important items you want to include in the essay.  Put them in order, it's called organization of ideas.  Then on the front of the paper you can write a paragraph about each of the points you want to make in the essay.  This helps you to organize your thoughts and write quickly.

Hope this Helps,  Good Luck on your exams!
