  1. She's NOT still in the hospital, she is at home.  They were able to reattach one foot, but the other leg was amputated below the knee.  She is still suffering from pain and depression, according to the article below.

  2. god i feel so bad for her in the hospital need alt of support i wish we could get a get well site 4 her i imagine she have to get limbs if they couldnt attach them a horrorr story

  3. I researched her, and found out that she is still in the hospital, but she is recovering well. Kaitlyn is very upset, and so are her parents, but they all thank the doctors and the nurses everyday!

  4. She's home.  She's been home for several months now.  She's still recovering, although it's a slow process.  Her right was leg was reattached, but her left was amputated below the knee.  Too much injury to reattach her left leg.

I've read lots of stories on her, the accident, and her condition, as well as forums that her father has joined that gives the parent's point of view of the accident.  What happened to her was tragic, but could've been a lot worse (decapitation by the cord or death).

What I don't understand about the park....they train their ride ops to pay attention, and they train them to use the "E" stop button when there's an emergency, but that day, the 16 year old ride op was "scared" to use the "E" stop button because she had never used it before, and supposedly, since she was away from her posted position, she was "too far" from the button, but had yelled for another ride op to use it.  If they had used that button, this accident may have been prevented.  Of course, if they had done their inspections and repairs like they were supposed to have done, her family wouldn't be in this situation either.

Such a tragedy.  I'm confident they'll win their lawsuit(s) in court.  I only hope that Kaitlyn will go on to live the rest of her life as best as she can, and hopefully she'll be able to enjoy amusement parks again one day.

  5. I do not know! I feel sorry for her!
