How's cruising for a sort of shy teen?

Ok, well, I'm going on a Diamond Princess cruise to Alaska for the first time this summer and I'd like some advice from other (preferably) teens that have gone on a cruise. I'm 15, and I can be shy around new people, but I still really want to meet new people on the cruise. Are other teens friendly? How are the teen areas? What would you say is the average age in these areas? Any other advice is gladly appreciated! Thanks a lot you guys. I hope you take the time to answer my question.

  1. I've never been on a cruise, but u should socialize, as in smile at ppl. i found out it works best. its gonna sound weird but ppl actually talk to u cuz of that and like u. and teens can be friendly and unfriendly everywhere. even if u do find someone unfriendly, dont let it dampen ur spirits.

sorry i couldnt help u much.

and my friends a girl. catty. lol

  2. thnx for answering my questio well im a shy person to and im 20 ...but when i was you age everywhere i would go i would take my friends with me so im only shy by myself lighten up a litlle and go with some friends and enjoy yourself dont be shy around other people because if they are talking about you it because you make them jealous or they are immature...well have fun

  3. SMILE and keep eye contact, that's the best way to do it... when they come around you ( and they will) be interesting and try talking things that guys like, but only if you know... like music and stuff... dont talk about sports if you don't know anything...

  4. I don't know if you will consider my answer relevant as I will be 21 in 3 months (sucks because I am going on a cruise in two weeks and won't be able to get alc on my own). I have been on 4 cruises with my parents prior to this, and 1 with my friends  when I was a senior in high school. I went on Diamond Princess to the mexican riviera in March 05'  for my senior trip with like 7 of my friends. It was an interesting experience because we were able to get into the clubs and other adult stuff being that we were 18+ but not really drink. Ok that little note aside lets go back to my previous cruise, I was 14 and honestly I had a pretty good time. I did do most of the teen activities and I met people that were fun to hang out with.

Being shy is a normal thing, I'm pretty shy at first too, but once you open and feel more comfortable, it should be pretty cool. Find a few people you like and just chill with em. Being 15, you should be fine in the teen club areas, lets say you were 17-18 y.o even 19, you probably wouldnt have fun because I'de say the ages of those clubs range from 14-16. If you like to dance and meet people, try going to one of those clubs. Also, read the morning flyer you get and find out whats good to do everyday.

One last thing, since this is an alaska cruise, make sure you check the scenery out because thats quite impt! (I can't wait, I'm going to alaska too at the end of july)

Have a great trip, you'll be fine...

  5. sometimes, cruises will have a teen nightclub, for people 13-17. if ur cruise has one of those, check there. i hope u find what ur looking for!

  6. um ust be freindly it dont matter after the cruise youl prolly never see them again, you could get lucky or it could be a dissaster last year there were no teenagers on the boat my age so i somtimes got bored or there could be a whole bunch, they could be nice or *** holes ,just say hi they mite be nice back or be asses, Mainly  be nice cause youll never se them again so it dont matter
