-haven't appeared in a Super Bowl since January 26th, 1986.

-Why the hate on Grossman, when he had to help someway to get Bears into Super Bowl against Colts, it's a team sport, not just the QB's fault.

  1. The Bears made the superbowl because of Defense and Special Teams. Rex Grossman isnt a good NFL Quarterback. He is similar to Trent Dilfer when the Ravens won the superbowl. He was an excellent system quarterback in college under Spurrier just like Danny Wuerful was at Florida.

  2. I think he just had a good season and now everyone expects too much from him which makes him look really bad. It makes him look even worse since he went to a superbowl.

  3. The Bears made the Super Bowl DESPITE Grossman's play.  They had an excellent running game with Thomas Jones that year and a great defense (not to mention some great plays by Devon Hester on special teams and some late game heroics by Brown).  You have a good chance to go deep in the Playoffs if you can run and stop the run as long as your QB doesn't s***w it up for you.  The Bears could have easily won the Super Bowl had Grossman not thrown 4 ints.  He should have been MVP for the Colts that year.

McMahon was a leader and had a swaggger that really identified with the team and city in 1986.  Every kid thought McMahon was the coolest thing in football.  Since the team went downhill for awhile, fans became apathetic and numbed to the suckiness of previous QB's (most of who were actually better than Grossman).  None single-handily lost a Super Bowl for them.  In KC, we could have made the Super Bowl twice had it not been for poor play by Steve Bono and Elvis Grbac in the playoffs...both QBs we ran out of town....so I can see why Chicago hates Grossman.

  4. I'm a Chicago Bears fan and I don't hate Rex. I realize that he took us to the Superbowl and really is on of the most talented QBs our team has seen.

I think he has the talent to be a top 5 QB in the league, but the Bears have to provide him with some weapons.

The way the fans treat him here in addition with what he has to work with here, he has done a lot more than most QBs would be able to do.

I don't want Kyle as the QB. I have fully supported Rex and still do. I think he's a tough guy and regardless of the fans who boo him he will do well.

& Jay Mariotti is a complete idiot who shouldn't even have a job. He trashes anyone he can in Chicago.
