Question:

How's the Tap Water in Your Area?

I live in north Dallas, Tx and it doesn’t taste too bad like say west of here, but when you let it sit in a clear glass for a few minutes there’s always these accumulated clumps of cloudy residue at the bottom.

Do you drink your potable h20 or do you buy, use filter or what.

Do any of you have access to natural spring or well?

Thanks for participating.

  1. yes very clear and good....no residue at the bottom of my glass...

  2. fine

  3. ours is good but u may wanna think about a new filtration system hope it helps :)

  4. I find my water to be very wet and sloppy.

  5. The biggest problem is that they are putting fluoride and lead and all sorts of chemicals in the water to keep us from ascending between now and 2012.

I drink bottled water and I even watch that closely.  They are talking about "poisoning" the bottled water next.

Soon I'll have to get a filter and then filter the bottled water or go to a "water center" where the water is super filtered before it is sold.

You might want to bring those "clumps" into a lab and have them tested ... if such a place exists .... just to find out what you're drinking.

    :-)

  6. I'm in Saskatoon, western Canada.

Our water is just fabulous from the tap. It's hard water, but not awful. Very pleased with it.

  7. The water here in NY is better than in my summer home in VA. I would have thought that it would have been the other way around. I live north of NYC in Westchester county. I drink bottled water for the most part here but 100% when in VA

  8. We have city water where I am at, and it's fine.

Out in the rural areas it's well water, and that is very hit or miss. Some can taste rather metal-ly.

In the northern areas near the lakes, the well water is awesome, better than bottled in my opinion.

  9. perfect/excellent, i dont need to buy bottled water or filter

    i'm from trinidad and tobago

  10. I've been told that ALL the water in California is contaminated and the water where I live makes my stomach sick.  I live in Northern California, and there are lots of agricultural things around here, which can contaminate the water.

I do have access to well water through a friend of mine so I bottle it up and drink that water at home.

  11. most people in my area have county water. we have an excellent source from the pee dee river. the quality is great and most people i know are able to drink from the tap. some towns in the county have city water from a local lake and it sucks, it smells like rotten eggs and i read in the paper they are going to start buying from the county. i have a well but do not use it inside the house because it is hard and will stain white clothes.

  12. Well I am a few hrs away in the Lake Livingston area and our water is not drinkable 90% of the time. The water company post signs all over saying " do not drink the water".I buy bottled.Nothing like washing a load of whites and see them turn orange with foul brownish water.I have lived in 4 different States and 5 different cities in Texas alone within my lifetime and never have I seen such poor water quality then in this area.I do not even give the water from our local water company to my dogs.

  13. My water has chlorine... I drink bottled.  I think you may have iron or lime, but who knows w/o a test... Call in Culligan to test, and  bring sample to your county environmental dept.  for a test... My friend had a well for years that tested clean, but they recently added more criteria for testing and found carcinogenic agents from an old farm and an old airport leached into the water.  They never tested for those chemicals until a couple of years ago.  Now they cant use their well water... It is a dilemma.  It is also expensive to check for every possible agent that c/b in your water.

  14. I live in North Carolina and our Tap water tast fine.  When I lived in Edenton NC the water always had a white residue.  I found out that it is calcium from the near by ocean and inlets.  If you live near large bodies of water and find shells in the dirt around your house you may also have calcium in your water.

A Brita pitcher is not very expensive and does a great job filtering tap wather.

  15. cant drink from the tap cause im in mexico! i buy big water containers with almost 10 liters of water for the equivalent of 2 dollars

  16. I live in a north Dallas suburb too, and it's fine now.... but smells TERRIBLE in the summer!  I was told there's algae that grows in the pipes when it gets hot:) ....  I have a pitcher with a Brita filter in the refrigerator for drinking water, but use the tap water for everything else.....
