How's the food in Cuba?

The food is really good, there main one is Rice, beans, meat/chicken and fried plantains, the island has beautiful beaches, but everything it's a little bit expensive.

Awesome! I don't care what anybody says...I've come across so many people that complain that there isn't variety and it doesn't taste good...well, whatever! is what I say...these comments come from those whose breakfast only consists of Tim Horton's donut and coffee everyday.

The food is fresh and is excellent quality...the chefs are taught well in culinary schools and learn  a variety of foods.

The buffet restaurants in the resorts are excellent...so are the a la carte restaurants.

The grills are amazing, the meat and seafood are FRESH.

Black beans and rice, plantains, ackee, pineapple, papaya, fresh coffee, fresh eggs, fresh avocados are some staples....and the meat, calamari, shrimp/lobster and beef are beautiful.

And it's not bland like many say....there are flavours so beautiful.

I say Buen Apetito :-)

My son went last year and as he speaks fluent Spanish he stayed with Cuban families and ate like the locals as well as in restaurants and cafe's.He was pleasantly surprised.He's been all round the world but found Cuba fascinating.Like picking up an old dusty book and discovering a wonderful tale inside.

Very good.  Cuba is a great place to take your family.  It's really safe all over unlike Mexico, Dominican Republic, Jamaica.  The people are very friendly and helpful.  The beaches are great and playing with the dolphins is fun.

The food at the AIs has improved over the years.  Be sure to select at least a 4 star resort.  The resort I go to, Sol Melia Rio Luna y Mares, Holguin  has such excellent food on the buffet I rarely go to the a la cartes which are part of the price. A good site to check is tripadvisor.com   if you're looking for a resort it offers reviews of resorts all over Cuba.
