  1. ANY trip to Europe is a good trip!!!! It sounds wonderful! Hope it's not going to be rushed! Have a fabulous time!

  2. Add Greece or Western Turkey. Perfect for relaxing after a long trip. Go to Santorini or one of the thousand different island in the Aegean. If I were you I wouldn't go to Pisa replace Pisa with Cinque Terra and go to Pisa on a day trip (you really don't need to spend to much time there).

    Your trip sounds awesome!

    P.S. what about Croatia?

  3. People in those countries are rude. And not only the French hate Americans nowadays. Members of their Islamic populations have threatened me upon recognizing my accent as American on more than one occasion. Add on Amsterdam. Have fun.

  4. Just 30 minutes downcoast from Barcelona is Sitges, a very cool old town with beaches and a lot of nightlife and food & drink.  There are also nice beaches up the coast closer to France, like Cadaques.  In the south of France I've stayed in Nice, Montpellier, Toulouse, and Avignon, also Annecy and Lyon and Chamonix, which are closer to Switzerland and more mountainous, a diversion from the coast.  I rented a moped in Avignon and rode to Les Baux (ancient cliff dwellings), and Arles.  I also wanted to see Nimes and Aix en Provence (close to Marseille).

On to Italy if you want a great view of the coast visit  Cinqueterre (5 villages linked by train and walkways)  It's between La Spezia and Pisa.  I stopped in Manarola and went to all 5.  A boat tour is great too.

Florence is great and so is Siena and Bologna.

Pisa was pretty but just a couple of hours was enough there to see the tower.
