Question:

How About That Speech?

Supporters filled a stadium with somewhere around 80,000 people, not including those clustered outside watching the televised program. In Times Square, thousands crowded to hear him speak...it was like New Year's Eve all over again! People gathered in bars, living rooms, halls and retaurants, all waiting for Obama to accept the Democratic nomination for Presidency of the United States. And accept it he did, with one of most wonderful speeches ever made in a political process. He outlined everything he thought needed to be done, and the most important word was Change. He forcefully defended himself and the party from the juvenile barbs of the McCain-Bush forces! He was eloquent, intelligent, articular, visionary and very practical. He stands ten feet taller than John McCain, more educated, more compassionate, more realistic.

My question is, how did you like that speech? Were you a member of that audience? Do you realize how historically important that speech will prove to be?

  1. I did enjoy the speech.  He is always very well spoken, and that speech really did help me gain more faith in him.

  2. Carter write that drivel? Empty promises are just that, empty.

  3. Was there a speech?  I haven't heard anything about it on the news.

  4. Speech was a safe speech.  Not what I expected, and I doubt what he really wanted to give.  It was a basic campaign speech, not an acceptance speech.

The whole convention was full of contradictions.  You have Biden saying the American Dream is dead.  But the guy he is running with is proof that its alive and well.  You have people saying that Bush and McCain are the same, but McCain voted 94% against Bush.  The convention, (and I am sure the Republican one as well) are just propaganda events.

I have a strange feeling that when the debates start and the town-hall meetings that he is going to have serious trouble when he doesn't have something prepared in front of him and he has to think quickly.  he won't have anyone writing anything or telling him what to say.

The place was filled with supporters, so you wouldn't get anyone who didn't "cheer", but he's more of a rock star persona than a leader.  Just left me empty and saying "So what"..../

  5. It was a great speech, but the US is not electing the world's greatest orator.

  6. I was so Depressed listening to Obama...he's sooo Doom & Gloom

  7. Great speech! Great Man! There is hope for America, to be great again.

  8. all fluff no substance

  9. Great Speech, no longer have to worry about the McCain supporters going around asking "WHAT IS THIS CHANGE HUSSEIN SPEAKS OF?

BTW, the first person that answered, maybe answer with something that makes sense instead of copy/pasting this same message on every page.

  10. The speech was great. I will never forget that historical moment.

  11. His speech was awesome, I have never heard a better one and I have never been prouder to be an American. It was so clear to me that he must be President, because the country cannot afford to lose again. The loss to America was significant both times that Bush was elected, but I don't think that the country will ever recover if they miss this opportunity. If you truly love your country, vote Obama/Biden. Give peace a chance! Give America a chance! Give Obama a chance!

  12. Didn't hear it. Obama who?

  13. You get the same crowd at every political convention.  You'll see as you get older.  Next election will feel like Christmas when you've turned 10 years old.

  14. I liked the speech and I was glad that Obama answered the juvenile barbs from the McCain-Bush forces.  (Karl Rove ?).  I really don't think that he will be able to do most of the things that he wants to do, but if he can bring our young men and women home from that mess in Iraq, it will be enough for me.

  15. Yesterday's news.  It seems over shadowed by McCain's pick today.

  16. I love it.  He was right on.  The peoples candidate.

  17. Thank you for those kind words...I really can't accept all those compliments though.

My speech writer & acting coach deserve all the credit...I was merely reading what they wrote from a teleprompter.

  18. loved it. love obama. love democrats. love America. love love love.

EDIT: hey is that girl above me gonna keep posting the same ol' post? i bet there is no women dancing around her trailer park. she's lying.

  19. Yay
