  1. go to your local bank

you obviously must have a job

and being that you are 16 a part must be there

  2. I hear Wamu has terrrible customer service, try wachovia or bank of america. Something that gives you money back into your savings when using a debit.

  3. well when i was 16 i signed up with wachovia cause they give you a free checking account for students. and with that comes a debit card. so try that out. I'm not sure about WaMu though.

  4. pretty much any bank will do it with parental consent. I like BofA personally...a close friend who is a real penny pincher uses wamu and loves it...no bad reports here.

  5. WaMu is pretty good b/c they let you open a checking account w/debit card without a credit check, so if you don't have any credit, that's ok. I don't know about the age requirements tho... You may have to open a joint with an adult.

  6. A FEW DAYS AGO I GOT THE CHASE HIGH SCHOOL CHECKING ACCOUNT FOR THOSE 13-17. IT IS LINKED TO A PARENTS ACCOUNT. MY PACKAGE COMES WITH A VISA CHECK CARD. THERE ARE NO SERVICE FEES. ALL THE RULES APPLY WITH THIS ACCOUNT EXCEPT IF YOU OVERDRAFT IT IS TAKEN FROM YOUR PARENTS. SO BE CAREFUL. IT CONVERTS TO A FREE CHECKING ACCOUNT WHEN YOU TURN 19.
