How Apple calculate song's position in the iTunes chart?

I have seen that a song or an album's position is dynamically moved up and down in the iTunes chart almost every hour. Do iTunes has a chart sytem like Billboard music?

  1. its according to the downloads. the more the downloads the more popular the song/artist is.
