  1. Its a sport. You sign a waver before you go in there.

    Like boxing.

They are "Sanctioned" by the state.

  2. It's a sport. The entire world is not just abunch of p***y's. So many people don't even know how much punishment the human body can take and still go on to live a normal happy life made happier by your mma adventures. Also...Yea you feel like a mma when you win a fight. But nothing teaches more about your self or makes you feel good if done well then loosing a fight

Boxing is more dangerous.Your a r****d. Your ignorant man. You think you know and then you call people retards when you don't even know what your talking about. Why is boxing not more dangerous. Cause you figured and now someones a r****d. You can't properly defend your self in boxing. All you can do is take hits and hit back. You can't do anything but punch....You can't even kick so even the striking game is not complete. You can grab on to each other but the ref separates you. Grabbing is really the only defense you have against a better boxer who jeeps getting his punches threw. In MMA you can take the person down. You can kick at him. You can defend your self in anyway the body is capable of. In boxing ,Your defenses are cut off. it's punch or hug ... N we don't even finish the submissions. People usually just catch you in a submission and make you say tap which signify s saying ok I'm tired of this game

  3. No, because its sanctioned by the Committee of Sports. That's not a very hard question.

  4. Number 1, MMA fights are sanctioned sporting events by state athletic commissions, so it's no more assault than tackling someon on the Football field or checking someone in the boards in Hockey.

Number 2, Boxing is arguable more dangerous than MMA for several reasons:

    1) The gloves in MMA are smaller, meaning less force is actually hitting the opponent.  Boxing gloves may be bigger, but that mainly allows the puncher to punch harder, not absorb the impact for the punchee.

    2) MMA has many more ways to win a fight.  MMA fights can end without a single punch being landed to either fighter.  The only way to win in Boxing is to either do more damage to your opponent or bash his head in to the point that he cannot get up any more.

    3) MMA fights are stopped immediately after a knockout, and fighters are required to be able to defend themselves at all times.  In boxing, as long as someone can get up before the ref gets to 10, they can continue and recieve more brain trauma.

For "I buy and sell houses":

McCain called the sport "Human Cockfighting", a term that people still use to attack the sport today, when it was a nearly no rules brawl between two people.  The sport of MMA today is much more evolved than back then, and McCain no longer objects to the sport's existence.

  5. People seem to be under the impression that any time a person lays his hands on another person, it's assault. Legally speaking, that's just not true.

Assault means that the first party, the aggressor, acts in a way as to demonstrate a willful intent to make harmful or offensive contact against the other person (the "victim"). Secondly, the "victim" must be perceive that the other party means to cause him serious harm or make offensive contact. By both parties agreeing to enter into contact with each other, the two parties perceive that neither wishes to do the other serious harm, but rather each is intent to score points or achieve a winning result.

Now, there are cases in which one person midway begins to intend harm and the other person, by the change in the aggressors demeanor, perceives harm or offensive contact to be imminent. At this point, it becomes assault (Think Tyson vs. Holyfield II).

    Hope that helps.

  6. Do you consider football assault? How about hockey Demolition Derby? Roller Derby? Rugby? Wrestling? I would put UFC fighting and boxing, karate, jujitsu all the same category as..... sports..... I have never viewed any of these as assault.

  7. As opposed to boxing, a sport where ten people die a year, you mean? If boxing can be considered sport, so can MMA. It is completely consensual, so I don't understand why you'd consider it assault, anyway.

  8. its a sport. Boxing is much more dangerous.

  9. assault is a criminal charge when one person attacks another UFC is a sport

MMA is sanctioned by the individual states just as boxing is these men are professional athletes as good as any there are all of the fighters you see have to be licensed to fight by the state the have all had blood tests eyes tests prior to fights and drug testing after the fight

but for your question is boxing not assault or karate kickboxing or that matter Highshcool wrestling all those as aspects of MMA and the UFC

  10. These type of fights have been going on for yrs.except they we're held under ground because of legalities, and were against the law. Some one greased the palm of the right people, and the money is right as far as betting. So you know while the money is flowing they will go on and on.I would say before long they will go bear knuckled.

  11. boxing is more dangerous because the fighters take many more blunt punches to the head than mma fighters.  and i wish the ufc had no rules, like when it started.  then it was legal because two men chose to fight, two consenting adults who wanted to.  therefore its not assault and there is nothing wrong with it. i dont know why it became illegal to have no rules fighting.  i guess because the government loves to control us.

  12. Ok..the first answer is a r****d. How the h**l is boxing more dangerous!??! your an idiot first answer. But to answer your question...iono its a sport and everyone agrees on it

  13. Assault is crime where one makes another person fearful of an attack.  Battery is when one attacks another.

Mixed martial arts is a sport where the two participants consent to the competition.  Also, rules are in place to reduce injuries, e.g. groin shots, biting, eye gouging, tapping out, ref stops fight, etc.  It looks like mayhem, but it's a carefully regulated sport.  If it were a human c**k fight, it would look much different and people would end up dead or close to dead on a regular basis.

  14. Well if you look at it that way sure its assult, but theres one thing that separates the street fight from the mix martial arts match, and that my friend is a paper that both fighters agree to sign that says that the other fighter and the fighting organization cant be held responsibble for any injuries or even death caused in the octagon,.

  15. Because they are commissioned fights between two consenting MMA fighters, like boxing or karate.

  16. The fighters are doing it for sport not to kick someone's *** out of anger. In boxing its the same way.In football players get injured all the time.Should the opposing team get charged with assault because they attacked a guy with a ball?

These are the Rules, Regulations and General Information about the UFC:

The UFC has come a long way in a short period of time, from almost being banished off TV completely because it was deemed barbaric to refining themselves into a world class and world renowned extreme sport.

The rules and regulations instituted are designed to keep fighters as safe as possible, while avoiding cheep moves and unfair advantages that fighters may have otherwise been able to exploit, for example hair pulling and groin strikes, which in the very beginning of UFC were legal believe it or not.

Each bout will last three five minute rounds, unless it is a title fight, in which case it will be five, five minute rounds. There is a rest period between rounds of one minute. Weight classes go as follows

Heavyweight is 205 lbs to 265 lbs

Light Heavyweight is 185 lbs to 205 lbs

Middleweight is 170 lbs to 185 lbs

Welterweight is 155 lbs to 170 lbs

Lightweight is 145 lbs to 155 lbs

Fouls are as follows, a referee calls them if there is a infraction, usually players will get a warning then on the second infraction will lose points which could lead to them losing the match.

    1. Butting with the head.

    2. Eye gouging of any kind.

    3. Biting.

    4. Hair pulling.

    5. Fish hooking.

    6. Groin attacks of any kind.

    7. Putting a finger into any o*****e or into any cut or laceration on an opponent.

    8. Small joint manipulation.

    9. Striking to the spine or the back of the head.

    10. Striking downward using the point of the elbow.

    11. Throat strikes of any kind, including, without limitation, grabbing the trachea.

    12. Clawing, pinching or twisting the flesh.

    13. Grabbing the clavicle.

    14. Kicking the head of a grounded opponent.

    15. Kneeing the head of a grounded opponent.

    16. Stomping a grounded opponent.

    17. Kicking to the kidney with the heel.

    18. Spiking an opponent to the canvas on his head or neck.

    19. Throwing an opponent out of the ring or fenced area.

    20. Holding the shorts or gloves of an opponent.

    21. Spitting at an opponent.

    22. Engaging in an unsportsmanlike conduct that causes an injury to an opponent.

    23. Holding the ropes or the fence.

    24. Using abusive language in the ring or fenced area.

    25. Attacking an opponent on or during the break.

    26. Attacking an opponent who is under the care of the referee.

    27. Attacking an opponent after the bell has sounded the end of the period of unarmed combat.

    28. Flagrantly disregarding the instructions of the referee.

    29. Timidity, including, without limitation, avoiding contact with an opponent, intentionally or consistently dropping the mouthpiece or faking an injury.

    30. Interference by the corner.

    31. Throwing in the towel during competition.

  17. It's said that boxing is more dangerous because (as of yet) no one's died competing in MMA matches.

But, sure, it is dangerous. You have the same risks as boxing (boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai) plus the risks encountered in wrestling and in grappling and jiu jitsu. The submissions are designed to inflict pain or to cause unconsciousness.

But MMA has been sanctioned by states (and other jurisdictions), just as boxing, kickboxing, and jiu jitsu matches have been. It's just as legal as any of those.

For the trivia buffs, Presidential candidate John McCain tried to get MMA outlawed, calling it "human cockfighting." See, for instance, http://www.reason.com/news/show/122016.h...
