How Barcelona beat Real Madrid in their own “dirty” game (Part 6)
Daniel Alves was shown a yellow card after all the Real Madrid players forced the referee to show the Brazilian full back the card that he did not deserve. With that yellow card falling Real Madrid’s way, the theatricals started.
Pedro Rodriguez, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Busquets-c33048 and Daniel Alves were all seen diving throughout the game after that. Barcelona kept on pursuing the referee to give the Real Madrid players a card and they did succeed during the second half.
The fact that Angel Di Maria dived and all the Real Madrid players surrounded the referee to book Daniel Alves was totally forgotten by the world’s media as later http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38605 became the team which apparently “cheated its way to the top.”
As the first half ended, Barcelona was dominant in all the departments. Real Madrid was barely a threat against their archrivals. It looked as if Josep Guardiola finally found a way to hold down the counter attacking tactics played by Jose Mourinho.
The Catalan boss was beating the Portuguese tactician in his own game and there is no doubt that the way Barcelona played was simply how Real Madrid played against them in all the other El Clasicos.
In the second half, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-c29670 was the one who was shown a red card. The Portuguese defender, without a doubt, came forward towards Daniel Alves to claim the ball. However, the high studs were revealed and even though the replays show that he did not catch Alves
on the leg but it was a dangerous play and it could have easily broken the Brazilian’s leg.
There was some play acting by Daniel Alves but the Brazilian full back could have easily broken a leg if that tackle had connected.
The Barcelona players, just like the Real Madrid players in the first half, decided to surround the referee. Stark surprisingly showed a red card after the Barcelona players forced him to show it. However, it was quite clear that even if Pepe would take
the ball first and later bring down Alves’ leg, it would have been a red card because of a “dangerous play.”
Later, Marcelo stamped on Pedro Rodriguez’s leg and the whole world neglected that. No referee saw that and everyone thought it was yet another dive. The replays clearly show how Marcelo stepped over Pedro Rodriguez’s leg and it was definitely a red card.
However, the media forgot about that incident as well and only remembered how Alves dived and the Barcelona players surrounding the referee was the reason why Pepe was shown a red card.
There were other incidents which could have seen Pepe being booked but the referee didn’t book him. Marcelo could easily see a red card with an “off-the-ball” stamp on Pedro Rodriguez’s leg. Emanuel Adebayor also caught Sergio Busquets in the face but he
was only shown a yellow card.
What the football fans around the world forget are the decisions taken by the referee which were in favour of Barcelona because it’s a team that could reach the final of the UEFA Champions League and easily win it. However, the poor decisions taken by the
referee against Barcelona were totally neglected.
