How Can I Connect My VCR to My Laptop through a s-video to s-video wire?

I recently bought a new laptop and it came with a s-video wire. So I thought I could be able to hook up my vcr to my laptop to convert my vhs to dvd. I managed to connect my tv so my laptop appears on it but cant get my vcr to work. On my vcr I only have a s-video out. I do not have a TV tuner either. Can it be done?

This is an svideo OUTPUT. To record (input) you will need a tv tuner card.
