  1. As mentioned earlier, you should give her some collateral. Acoustics can be costly not to mention and sentimental value. She needs to know if something happens to it, you are good to replace it.

I take mine camping with me everytime I go. Here are a few tips:

    1) Be sure you carry it in a case

    2) Do not let it get too close to the fire as the heat can warp the wood

    3) Do not let it get wet, as the wood will warp.

    4) Be careful when setting it down in the dark. If it is resting upright, it can easily get knocked over. If its lying down, it can easily get stepped on.

    5) Make sure anyone else who plays it knows how to play it.

  2. Ummm.... grow up.  It's her guitar even if it's in YOUR room and YOU play it.  If you "wanna" guitar to take to camp, go buy a used Martin backpacker.  Then it WILL be your guitar.

Better yet, learn to play a harmonica.  They won't warp at camp.

  3. I agree with Garrison.  Martins, Gibsons, Guilds, Taylors, and many others, are all expensive, sometimes irreplaceable guitars.

If you're that interested in guitar, perhaps you could offer to buy the instrument from your sister, and give her a nice down payment?

If your sister won't sell, then you could consider buying your own?  Many low-end acoustics start at about $100.  Guitar Player magazine loves the low end Fender acoustics.

  4. Your sister is going to be concerned, and rightfully so, that it will get damaged or stolen. Give her some collateral, like money, so if you do break it, she can replace it.

  5. You didn't say what kind of guitar it is.  If it's some $100 POS from Wal-Mart, then who cares what happens to it... but if it's a Taylor or a Martin and you take it to camp and it get's trashed... you may as well know you will have to leave home to keep from being killed by your sister.... and nobody would convict her, either.

  6. you need to give her some of yours of value, that she can have in case it gets broken.or a note you that you  will be   paying to replacing it,

  7. Well first you have to get a gun......Oops! maybe not that way.

  8. could u rent one instead of taking hers?
