I have an Altec Lansing BXR 1121. Recently, it's making a sound even when not in use... Well the 2 small speakers are working fine, but the bass is not. Just want to know how to fix it... By the way, I knew it was grounded when I touched a s***w or any of the metal part of the speakers.

  1. Grounded?  What does that have to do wiith anything?  All electrical components have a ground, at least the ones that work do.

  2. I think your using the wrong term...  Grounded would mean it's connected to the Ground leg of you AC outlet which basically connects to Earth Ground.  I think what you may have is a short or bad connection internally.   To fix it, you will need to open it up and be able to access the amplifier board where the problem may lie.  However, unless your an electronics tech, I doubt there's much you can do...
