  1. I would suggest going to www.NeedAWebDomain.com and getting their traffic blazer.  Their a GoDaddy affiliate but I received so much targeted traffic just in the last 2 months.  So many people bought for my boutique shop.  I had 20 visitors a day back in January.  Now I'm getting close to 185 with about 3-4 people buying from me.

  2. Hi,

I would suggest you check out article marketing strategy. It can help you to get targeted traffic and backlinks. And it's going to be long term as long as u have your articles on the article directories.

  3. register with your local chamber of commerce. Make sure your meta tags include, chicago,  illinois, deli, catering, and the name of your business.

  4. If you have a registered domain website it would be a good move to create a blog on one of the blog platforms like Blogger.com which is a traffic magnet.

The name and URL should have Chicago in them and clearly point to catering in the Chicago area.

The best way to connect and define your traffic is to mention things in your blog posts that are clearly about Chicago while advertising your business.

It would be a great boost to give away cooking tips or something else to benefit readers and show your catering menu items in photos. Also take pictures of Chicago and tie it all into food and catering.

Ask your Chicago visitors about their favorite foods, event experiences linked to catering, etc.

Anything you do on the Internet will be global. But you can easily limit the interest on the blog you create by keeping the topic about Chicago and your business. You can link the blog to your website.

Look at it this way, there may be some homesick Chicagoans  out there in other States or countries who would enjoy your posts from home, maybe even recommend you to friends and associates back home. Everything has an angle that can be useful. But a blog is a great asset.

One more thing you can do is get a Twitter account. Chicagoans will find you in a hurry.

I'm originally from Chicago and still miss it.

  11. I am not sure about Yahoo, but in Google pay-per-click advertising you are able to create a campaign and specify the target market area.

Create an account at http://www.google.com/adwords and change the "location" tab in the "Targeting" section
