How Can I Get my Samsung Plasma 42' TV to Stop making that annoying noise when turning on?

is there a a way to turn on your tv silent without making a noise?

Oh for the love of Pete  (St Peter)....Shannon is going to suggest you take your TV set in for repair....ON EVERY answer I have seen....

Look, There is no way to defeat the TONE ON or TONE OFF on the Samsungs...Not in  the menu.

I'm sure that a TV tech will say he can't help you, and you'll end up paying him to TRY to find a way to turn it off....and after an hour or two, you'll still have the tone On and Tone Off annoying you....

So save your money....

When I used to have a 23" Samsung LCD TV, it would stop making that noise if the TV's "internal mute" was on, but if you're actually using the TV's speakers, that's not a very viable option. I do believe there was a way to turn it off in the sound menu, but I'm not sure, but I don't know why there wouldn't be a way to turn the sound off.

It should turn on with out making any noise.

If it is under warranty you should get it looked at by a qualified TV repairman.
