How Can I Have A Good Memory?

Whenever I try to remember something, I seem to forget it. How can I ensure to myself that I have a good memory? By memorising a word, and keeping it in your mind.

  1. i also have that problem sometimes

    what helps me with test is writing what i need to study on multiple flashcards and write them 10 times.

    and right before you go to bed read the material aloud once or twice

  4. When you have free time or time when your not focusing on anything really important reciete the alphabet backwords, or list as many numbers from pi as you can, something along those lines.

  6. true the diet thing is good and taking your vitamins and working out just being generally healthy helps you stay mentally sharp. As does keeping your mind active - read, do crosswords etc.

    but to remember specific things I find talking about it with someone else or if no one is around, just say things out loud.. for example, if there is a complicated process you have to memorize or know for school, describe it in words out loud. It may make sense in your head but when you go to explain it or write it down when the test comes it is sometimes hard to put it in words. Teaching is the best way to learn so maybe expain it to someone else, they may have questions that forces you to think more and really understand the concept.

    This doesnt only go for school...in real life if you want to remember a process for work etc try the same tactics, also, take notes. writing things down help to remember them. Try not to just memorize words....you will most likely not retain most of it long term. Instead, make sure you understand the why and the how of what you are trying to remember and then it will make sense and be remembered and recalled easier.

  9. Eat your vegetables. Just kidding. Even though eating your vegetables is good for you, there are other ways, too. Before you go to bed. Study whatever you want to remember for, say, 10 minutes (depending on what your studying). Then, while studying, either chew a piece of candy with a distinct flavor, or smell. Then, whenever you want to remember what you studied, eat that piece of candy again. It will bring back all the memories of the night or week or whatever before. It really works. I can almost 100% guarantee it. (99.9%)! Good luck!

    Seriously though, try doing things such as Sudoku or crossword puzzles.  They really do sharpen your mind.

  11. Fish oil has helped me with my memory. But repetition is the big thing on how I get myself to remember things.
