What is the most efficient way to increse my explosive speed and speed over a short distance? Thank-you!

  1. The three main exercises you need to focus on for power is:

    1. Squats- this strengthens the quadriceps, which are the largest muscle in the body. And this muscle is responsible for propelling/thrusting.

    2. Lunges- this strengthens the hamstrings, which is the counter-part to the quadricep. This muscle is used to get the leg back to position for the quads to propel you again.

    3. Calf raises- this strengthens your calfs, which acts as a whiplash to provide more power to your legs. It is the last muscle used in running/jumping, so it is crucial that it is not neglected

Plyometrics or if your looking to increase your vertical jumpsoles helped me a lot i gained 4 inches in a month and eat a lot of protein if your skinny like i am u need to work on your core strength your abs and chest and do squats etc also what i do for basketball i jump up and touch rim then as soon as u hit the ground explode back up and grab it and do that as many times untill failure
