I mean a sharp sword. And I need some at home processes. I probably can't even get a grinder. Wood could be nice as long as it's sharp. NO eBay ANSWERS THIS TIME!!! I know about eBay already!

  1. You need to buy a forge- for folding the metal and hammering it until you are so 'waxed on and off'd' again you wish you'd never thought of it. Get a Marine Dress Sword and stone it. Either that or get an old leaf spring, straighten it, grind it and temper it.

  2. It depends on how dedicated you are to really MAKING a sword. I was on a quest to make my own Bowie knife, and someone suggested using the leaf springs from an old truck.  You're gonna need a forge and some instruction in metallurgy, lots of patience and muscle...because you need to temper the metal and anneal it as well in order to make an edge and keep it otherwise it'll notch. Then you need to polish it, and keep a tang all the way thru the hilt as well as remember to craft a cross guard.

If you're serious about it, watch how Japanese sword master makers make theirs on History and Discover Channels.
