How Can I Prove To People & My Friends That I Am NOT Dating My Ex-Boyfriend?

This happened in my Math class this afternoon. Some guy called my name and told me that I was back together with my ex-boyfriend. I knew that wasn't true because I was single and we haven't talk to each other in a few weeks. I tried to ignore them, but they kept saying that! Ugh! I got so sick & tired of it and people think that we are back together because of a picture of us that my teacher took last year at a dance. Also, they think that we are PERFECT together. We are NOT. We tried dating 5 times and it still won't work! I talked to my friends about it and they said that I like him & need to be stop denying it . I so do NOT like him anymore. My question is: How can I prove my friends & other people that I am NOT dating my ex-boyfriend? Also, be honest & NO stupid answers here. I'm so serious about it right now. Thanks.

Sorry, that must be so annoying, but maybe you could try like flirting with other guys in your class to prove you are single.

&

Don't walk from class to class with your ex or hang out with him at lunch.

If people see you two together they normally get the hint that you guys could be back together.

You can't prove a virtue so there is nothing you can actually do to make them believe you other than what you are doing (i.e. not dating him) but it will help if you don't let them wind you up with their idle chit chat.

The bottom line is - they are wrong, that is their problem and there is no reason why it needs to be yours.

If they ask you questions about it then you might feel that not answering would seem like you were hiding something; in this case try and be as clear and level headed as possible in your response and above all ... brief. Put the subject to bed without getting angry.

You don't have to prove anything to anybody.  You know how you feel and later for what they think. Live your life and tell them to keep there opinions of how you feel about him to themselves.  Furthermore, maybe you should just stop hanging around them and see if they get the message that you don't  like the way they are handling and your business.

Yes, its annoying and driving you insane but just take a deep breath and hold on.

If your friends were loyal then they would totally believe you. But these days, friends can be overwhelming at times...

Let them think what they want but you know that you are not dating him.

But what you should do is avoid him.

Just don't walk near him, past him, in front.

Sit somewhere were he is out of sight and just hang out with friends.

Soon they will come o realize that you guys did break up.

People will talk c**p about you

People will always have an opinion about you, whether they know you or not

So, start learning how NOT to care what people say and think.    You know you are not dating him, so whats the big deal?   Go to school, do your work, study hard, and hang out with your close friends.   You really dont have an issue here.   Stop trying to prove things to other people.  They dont matter.
