Question:

How Can I Record Streaming Audio from a Radio Station?

I have to work during a program that I like to listen to; the program is on a station in another state, and online is the only way that I can access it and listen to it. Is it possible to record it so that I can listen later? I'd appreciate recommendations on software to do this, as well.

Thanks!

  1. Try using Mozilla firefox, use the add-on downloadhelper. then start the streaming. you'll find a icon jst next to your address bar rotating. click that and you'll be able to download the audio.

  2. Ok ignore the other answerer, it only works if the live stream is actually a posted file, rather than an actual live feed. Say for example, youtube is a live stream of a recorded file, and in which case you can use:

    http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

    With this add on

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox...

However, if its a radio station, use this:

    http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

You'll need to set it up to stereo mode, so go into preferences when you install it, set the number of recording channals to 2 (stereo). If you have any other troubles or its not working, feel free to email me Ill help you as much as I can.

    Best of luck!
