How Can I Secure My Wireless Network?

I live in an appartment, there are 8 wirelesses in my range, and mine is the only unsecured one, silly isn't it. How can I get mine to be a 'security-enabled network' like the others? Please could you give me a few pointers and steps on what to do. Thanks a lot

  1. You need to access your router's settings.

    This is usually done by using your web browser and by typing 192.168.1.1 or similar into the address bar (Check with your router maker's website).

    You should then follow the options to enable wireless security - your router maker's website should have a complete manual or instructions to do this.


  2. on the back of your router you should find a number something like 192 /168/01 example only put this into your web browser without being connected to the web  your user name will be admin and your password will be password follow the instructions on screen from there hope this helps i had the same problem and this worked for me

  3. ONE STOP SOLUTION --- DO SOME ENCRYPTION ,

    such that others cannot evesdrop on your network .

    CHOOSE WPA2 (WPA version 2) type of encryption and choose your passphrase (password ) of 13 charecters.

    MORE THAN ENOGH to secure your network .
