Question:

How Can I Wash My Bra?

I bought this really nice white bra that has a small embellishment on the front with gems on it.

But when I bought it I didn't think about how I was going to wash it. I don't really want to put this bra in the washing machine so how do I wash it?

  1. Wash it by hand in the sink with something mild like Woolite and hang to dry.  No worries!

  2. I agree with butterfly lover - use woolite to hand wash it in cool water.  However, if the bra is padded or has underwires, I would lay it front side up on a towel with the cups resting on some tennis balls or (or softballs if you happen to be so fortunate) so that the cups and underwire maintain their shape. I have been doing this for the past few years and have found that my bras last longer.

  3. It best to wash it by hand in sink

Use warm water.  Pour a little bit of laundry in water will fill up. You will see suds.

It really easy to wash anything by hand. It kinds of like how you wash dish by hand.

After you have finsh. Fill sink with warm water again add little bit of fabric softener to your water so your bra does not come out stuff.

  4. If you have a front-loading washer with a hand wash or gentle cycle, it is fine to put it in there, especially if you have a lingerie/garment bag. Just don't use the dryer. You should never put bras in a top-loader or any washing machine with an agitator, because it can eat the fabric up and destroy the cups. Instead you can use a cold water hand wash with a couple cap fulls of Woolite. Check the tag, and if it says it's safe to bleach, you can use a bit of bleach also to keep it from getting dingy. After you wash, lay it flat on a towel to dry or hang it up (make sure to do this outside or over a bath tub, so you don't get a wet floor.) I used to wash all my delicates this way before I got a front-loading washer.
