  1. Yes, you can! That is what I am going to college for. Unfortunately you can't do EVERYTHING that they do, you would be confined to one thing instead of investigating, collect, and analyzing everything yourself.

But you can be a Forensic pretty much whatever

P.S. I'm going to be a forensic chemist.

  2. You do realize that they are actors and real CSI people just collect and process samples, don't you?

  3. The characters on CSI actually do the work of three people: the crime scene investigator, who documents the scene, collects the evidence, and submits it to the lab; the laboratory scientist, who analyzes the evidence submitted and testifies to their results in court; and the detective, who interrogates and arrests people.

If you want to be a crime scene investigator, there are two ways to do it.  Some departments use police officers.  In that case, you'd have to become an officer and do a few years on patrol before transferring to crime scene.  Other departments use civilians.  Their requirements can vary widely. If you have a particular department you want to work for, call them and ask about their requirements.

If you want to be a laboratory scientist, you need a bachelor's degree in chemistry, physics, or biology.  Some universities offer the combined "forensic science" degree which is a bit of everything and that is generally accepted, too.  You have to major in one of those things; a degree in criminal justice or psychology or police science will not get you into the lab.
