How Can I build a cheap wood shed that is to be used as a studio/music room?

It is being built in my backyard and needs to be bug/weather proof. Any Ideas?

  1. Buy a kit from Home Depot. They have some tuff shed knock offs that are pretty reasonable. The along with insulation buy sound board. It is sold next to the plywood and is an acoustic board, it will run you about $7-8 for a 4'x8' sheet. Then sheet rock over the top of that.

    For weather proofing follow standard building practices. Wrap the building with a sheeting (layered bottom - up) and attach you siding.


  2. I would suggest buying a kit - check on line: they seem to be chepaer than buying the equivalent lumber and putting it all together yourself. Look in want ads - you may get something suitable second hand.

    One tip which is cheap is to use the carboardy egg cartons that you get from farms - stick those all over the inside makes effective sound proofing if youare planning to get noisy.
