just google yahoo avatar.....and follow the steps

go to "edit profile" NOTE: that would require you to click "my profile"... after you have done so there will be a picture with a shadow that says "use my yahoo avatar".. click on that... scroll down the screene and click preview, scroll down the screen again and then click ok... after all that it should take you back to your profile page..  Where it says yahoo, my yahoo, mail and make your home page.. type on the right hand side across from where it says "make y! your home page" where it says search type in : yahoo avatars, after you enter or hit enter new window should pop up that says "yahoo avatars"  click on the one that says that.. you will then find something that says "preferences" choose either male or female.. then go ahead and make your avatar click save changes to keep what you made.. then go back to your profile page and there you go you have an avatar..
