My husband and I are trying to work on our marriage. I have filed for divorce, but he has yet to sign the papers. How can I go about putting the divorce on hold to try and see if we can make it work?

  1. Sit down with your spouse and have that heart to heart...that's the only way....

  2. My husband and I filed for a divorce and later worked things out before it was final. We called the attorney and told him that we wanted to try and work things out (of course $5k later) and he said he would just hold onto everything. Well about 2 months ago he called and we told him we were working it out.

Congratulations on trying to work it out...one less divorce in this country.

  3. I think you could just tell your attorney to stop the process, dunno

  4. Just call your attorney and say you want to put it on hold.  A divorce is not final until the papers go through the courts.  You can stop the process any time before that.  As a matter of fact the courts would rather you try and work it out.

The laywer will just file your papers away until you are ready to continue.  They see cases like that all the time.
