  1. Buy a USB memory stick - transfer to main PC and then copy to USB stick and then to your PC.

  2. over a wireless network or external hard drive

  3. use your USB to transfer them.

you could also use a dvd and just drag and drop the files on your lap top on to it using a data transfer.

a program like "free easy burner" as the programs you need for transfer.

you can then choose to put the songs /tv onto your pc or just store them on the dvd.

free easy burner will take 6 full length(1 ½to1¾hour films)and put them as data files.

    you say cd's are expensive!!

if in uk you can get cd's and dvd's for as little as 11pence each at "copycatz" check their prices on line.

    hope this helps.

  4. Install itunes on the computer upstairs then sync the songs on your ipod to the new itunes library on the computer upstairs. I think you can treat your ipod like a usb by opening it in 'my computer' and dragging the folders in there. Then you don't have to buy a usb stick ;)

  5. well you're going to have to get some sort of external storage device. If you're concerned about price, I would suggest a usb memory stick
