  1. The last thing I'd use on either a wood or metal head is a flame.  Yes, heat will free up the epoxy  that's holding your shaft to your head, but a quality heat gun that can generate 4-500F, should get it loose.  Most hair dryers won't get the epoxy hot enough.  You might want to mark(ie index) where the club head and shft originally met in case you want to put it back exactly the way it was originally.

I wouldn't use any more heat than necessary, especially if you are heating a composite head or shaft.   To reinstall it, make sure you clean both mating surfaces of all the old epoxy and lightly sand both surfaces and use some of that 5 minute epoxy from the hardware store.  If you choose to use the longer curing 2 hour epoxy, then make sure you let the club set overnight before swinging it or having it contact a ball.  Prolly not a bad idea to do that regardless of quick or slow setting epoxy.  Plenty of websites on putting new shafts on your clubs out there in cyberspace.

    Good luck

  2. You have to use a heat source.  If it is an iron head, you can use a blow torch and heat the hosel until it gets hot enough where the epoxy breaks down.  With a torch, it usually takes about 7-10  seconds of heat.  If you are trying to take a driver head off, do not use a torch because you run the risk of burning the paint off the driver head.  If you do not have club repair experience, I would suggest taking it to a club repair person at your local golf store and have him/her do it for you.

  3. bang it on the ground multiple times

  4. That all depends on whether your club is steel shafted or graphite shafted. You haven't given enough information to give you the proper instruction. Take it to a golf shop that specializes in club repair. They will remove it properly in a jiffy. Since most heads are fitted to the shaft with epoxy they will have the solvent which will do the job.

  5. what kinda club? why? bring it to a shop and they have vices and tools to take it off without damaging the head, shaft and most importantly the hosel. u dont wanna cause any damage so let someone else do so that way if they damage it, its their responsibility

  6. Not a job for you.  If you have to ask how to get it off, you will probably wreck it.  But if you must, you need to heat up the hosel with a heat gun to melt the epoxy and then pull it off.  A golf repair shop will have a "shaft extractor" tool - you really should take it to them.
