Do you need a wii points card and if so how much does that cost?

I have a decent connection and I have a wii :D i just need to know what to do next.............

A points card costs about $20 or £14, and gives you 2000 points which can then be redeemed on the shopping channel, the Opera browser its self costs 500 points and is in the wii software category, this will obviously leave you with 1500 points to buy games on the virtual console and wiiware sections.

You can buy the Internet Channel from the Wii Shop Channel for 500 points. You can either purchase a 2000 point card from a retail store, or if you go on the Shop Channel itself, there is an option to purchase points directly with a credit card. On the Shop Channel, you can purchase either 500, 1000, 1500, or 2000 points. It is safe and secure.

If the only thing you want is the internet, this is your best bet, this way you wont have to spend any extra money.

Unless you got one of the first Wii that came out at launch, you need to use your Wii points to buy the Opera channel from the Virtual Console.  It's 5 bucks.

You can buy points by using a Wii card or a credit card.  Either way, it's 1 buck per 100 points.  In stores, you can only buy increments of 20 bucks.
