Ok just a few weeks ago my ps3 was working fine and can connect to my computer by an ethernet cable then a thundrstorm came and it messed up all of the internet connections in my house. Since the internet doesn't work i just waited till my mom got it fixed. When it was fixed i tried connecting my ps3 to my computer but everytime i try to connect it says an ethernet cable isn't connected even though it is. So I thought the ethernet cable was broken but when i put the ethernet cable on my xbox360 it works just fine and connects to my pc. So i'm trying to figure out how i'm gonna fix this or if i should get it fixed

  1. Ask your mom if the router was reset. Looks like you have to re-establish connection from scratch. And contact your provider, sometimes they need to register MAC addresses (like in my case).

  2. I think your going to have to go wireless. Or you can try to system restore? Take Note: If you system restore you will lose all your data so if you do, do that then make sure you save your memory in a usb flash drive.
