How Can i Fix my Guitar Hero Guitar?

So the red button is like not responding you press it and nothing happens, and we didnt drop it or anything, and someone told me to take it apart and "re-sodier" it....(i dont know what it means, if you do please tell me) so i took it apart and nothing was broken? so i dont wanna go buy a new one cuz im gonna buy rock-band, but i just wanna know how to fix it until then...PLZ HELP! what can i do to fix it, and what most likley caused it? THANK YOU SOOOO MUCHHHHHH

ok so if ur buying rock band forget gutair hero and buy rock band and play that, i dont play it no more now i play  rock band its better and more realistick gutair so forget it or if u want it fixed take it to best buy or something and go to customer service and tell them to fix it but u will have to pay, but if u dont want to pay tell them wat does re sodier mean and tell them how to fix it so when u go home u can fix it

Well if it's a single button that's not responding it might be a loose connection. Your friend's suggestion was apt if that is the problem. When you open the guitar up, look for a loose wire near the red button. I've never taken my guitar apart so I'm not sure what it looks like inside. Anyway, if you can find a loose wire then you'll need to re-solder the connection. You'll need a soldering iron and some solder to do this. Due to the large amount of heat involved and the relatively fragile components, it would be best not to try unless you know what you're doing. Get a friend (or parent) to help you.

Basically, soldering is using an electrically conductive metal with a low melting point (usually tin) to re-fasten an electrical connection. This is very different from welding, mind you; welding requires a lot more skill and much higher temperatures which would damage the components in the guitar.

i would buy the nyko frontman guitar it works for both rockband and guitar hero so u dont have to buy the rockband guitar ps the rockband guitar is horrible
