People are always sayin how bad curry is for you etc....but this is how i make mine, and i dont see how it can be unhealthy or full of hidden calories etc. . .¨

I cut up some chicken breast put it in a pyrex bowl, add spices (cayene peper, tandori powder, tumeric powder etc...) add a small pot of natural yogurt, add a tin of tomatoes, mushrooms, onion, garlic and peppers....stick it in the overn for 2 hours, stir it every 30 mins,,,,done.

Whats so unhealthy about it?

  1. Sounds pretty healthy to me. I wouldn't worry about it.

  2. When people say curry is unhealthy, they are usually referring to curries from takeaways which are very high in fat. Yours sounds pretty healthy.

  3. curry just sounds gross.

    It sounds like a fungus.

  4. Sounds tasty any chance of an invite to dinner :-)

  5. Some curries have lots of cream / nuts / butter (Ghee) or oil in them. That's what makes them unhealthy. Yours sounds yummy and healthy!

  6. Because most curries you get in restaurants or from a jar, have a lot of cream in them (cream is high in cals and very fattening). You've used yoghurt instead so it barely has any fat in it. Your curry sounds pretty healthy because it's full of veg. Most people just cook off some chicken and add a jar of Patak's! - which is why it's bad.

    Hope this helps

EDIT: Oh yeah, and takeaway curries usually have a lot of oil/butter in them. When you get a takeaway one you'll notice a thick reddish layer of grease all over the top, another reason why it's bad.
