How Come I can't get a chinchilla wet?

Not that I was planning on it, But what happens if it gets wet??? I'm curious. Best Answers you can think of please!!!!!

As their fur is so dense, it would take forever to dry it off, during this time your chinchilla could develop hypothermia/phnumonia or other horrible diseases and conditions, this is why you shouldnt get your chinchilla wet - not that it will turn into an evil gremlin! x
