  1. Vitali and Wlad are both doctors with decent income. Ali was not poor either. Mickey Rourke (actor) obviously was not poor.

  2. would you be breaking/marring faces if you were rich? perhaps no and this is the motivation that they have to alleviate their poverty ex. Sonny Liston, an ex-con and boxing is his way out.

  3. If they weren't poor, they'd be playing golf. (Anyway, in "fighting" there is also much of a bottled anger released and when a person comes from poverty, esp. below poverty level...there is much of a resentment, bitterness, frustration, etc. towards the society or things in general...they may not be mentally aware of it but fighting becomes an outlet which make them good fighters. In a poor neighborhood, being "tough" for boys is also an expectation since it tends to become a dangerous world.People don't have the time and money to deal with lawsuits, so what they do is they fight it physical. So poor people grow in a culture of fighting while wealthier people grow in a more secure environment where they don't learn how to protect themselves physically since they have money to pay for lawyers, babysitters and guards.)

  4. Ask yourself, if your parents can afford to send you to school would you punish your body every single day just to get beat up for a living? If you're answer is no, then that's the reason why most fighters grew poor.  Boxing is their only ticket out of poverty and this is so true especially in third world countries like the Philippines.  Manny Pacquiao was dirt poor before he became Pacman, and now, every poor Filipino kid is turning to boxing for salvation.

I know of only one exception and he's no other than "The Greatest" Muhammad Ali.  Ali's parents earned decent living and were able to send Cassius and his brother to school.  Everything just changed because of the "stolen bicycle", and the rest was history.

  5. Nobody would allow themselves to be smacked with leather on the face, if they were born on a well to do family.

They'd grow up g*y and happy with not much motivation.

  6. Poor: all the boxers ever

Not Poor: people who bought their pay-per-view fights

  7. because if you come from any kind of money why would you choose to get hit in the head for a living?
