  1. Thats one of plasma's natural setbacks, or in other words, thats the nature of how plasma processes onscreen pictures, using its own distinct way to stand out of other screen technologies in the market.

    For example, if your comparing an lcd and plasma both side to side, you'll see that the lcd's pixel count can be much sharper and plasmas not as sharp.

    But where plasma isn't quite as bright and sharp as lcd, it makes up for in natural depth of colour, richness of colour and the ability to show out true blacks which further boosts the excellent colour abilities also on plasma. Thats one of the reasons why plasma dosen't need a high pixel count, as the plasma cells show more depth of colour and generaly better contrast, which in itself shows out masses of detail. Some of sony's new lcd's are blacker than some plasmas and contrast amazing also.

  2. You are probably shopping in stores where only the cheaper models are sold such as Walmart.  Go to a store that sells more expensive models.
