  1. Depending on the strength of the device, the elevation of the explosion, the wind direction, the amount of protection you have.  Evacuation in time would be impossible, you would probably be a dead person in a very short period of time.

  2. Make a bunker deep underground with an air ventilation / filter system and a lot of food and water. Good luck with that one though.

  3. Yeah Tom! Dead in a short period of time if you are lucky.

  4. You have to drink about 0,2L of vodka and move as fast as it possible out of epicentre of blast. If wind goes from epicentre to you, you have to move taking way at 90 degrees to wind direction.

  5. The immediate fall out would certainly kill you.  A small nuclear device of a few megatons may give you a chance to live in a instance of a suitcace nuke.  You could survive in a variety of ways.

    1.  Immediately take pottassium Iodide pills in order to prevent you from intaking contaminated iodine from the environment.

    2.  Put as much distance between you and the outside air.  I am sad to say this is the trickiest part.  The government's contigency plan for weathering a nuclear attack would be to quarantine the affected areas.  That means shutting down the major roads and highways in order to prevent the congestion.  This leads to a number of possibilities.

If you have a underground shelter, make sure it is deep.  Lead Lining of the walls of a few feet may improve resistance.  There are a variety of proffessional fall out shelters on the retail market that range from sevceral thousand to as much as a house.

If you do not have access to a shelter, you need to stay indoors.  FEMA documents reccomend duct taping all glass windows areas and doors.  Now you need to make a shelter in a secluded part of your house.  You need a section of the building that does not adjoin windows or doors.  Make a shelter out of what is available including couches, tables etc and use a blanket to section it off.  Bring water, canned foods into the area and a sanitation tool such as a trash can and plastic bags to divert waste.
