i think she is making a safe place for the babies she will be moving around less as she will be tired make sure she has enough food and materials to make the nest don't disturb her good luck

Yes she probably is making a nest,but normally gerbils will carry materials back to their nest anyway,but if she is pregnant she probably is just making a snug nest for her babes!
