My engagement wasn't anything special but I thought it was perfect. Our three year anniversary was coming up and my boyfriend told me he had a surprise for me, I later found out he had just planned a date for our anniversary so I was pretty bummed because I thought for sure the surprise was an engagement ring. Then the day before our 3 year anniversary he came home from work and told me to come into the livingroom because he did have another surprise for me, then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! It was perfect because it was just him and I. We have been engaged since June and together for three years.

My wife loves penguins, so I went to a Build-A-Bear store and got a stuffed penguin with a customized pre-recorded message he gives when you press the button (you know, just like those talking dolls?)  I sewed the engagement ring under one of his feet, and the pre-recorded message said "Ouch!  I have a piece of ice in the bottom of my foot -- will you please take it out for me?"  She loved the penguin, but she got quite a shock after she heard the message and looked at his feet.

We've been married for four years, and she has gotten a lot more penguins to add to her collection.  She now has a curio cabinet full of ceramic, glass, and crystal penguins of all shapes and sizes.  The one with the special message is on the top shelf.

well let's see he told me that we were going to a fancy restaurant so of course i got all dolled up and well he ended up taking me to this pretty lake it was at night well we could still see each other and he has set up a romantic dinner for two with candles and he had scattered petal roses all over the table and on the floor and we we're just enjoying ourselves when all of a sudden he asks me if i want to go for a walk and the lake/ river what u want to call it was under this little bridge and he just popped the question i remember it so well!

he said i've loved you ever since we started seeing each other you are amazing and i can't imagine me being without you

he got down on one knee and said will you marry me my princess it was so sweet and when i said yes i guess he had it planned fireworks illuminated the sky it was almost to good to be true

We went for a day trip to the vineyards in New York. It's about a 3 hour ride from our home, and we go there a few times a year. It's beautiful and we love the people (wine's alright, too). We walked into one winery for a tasting, and after we had tasted a few types, the woman who worked there said, hey, you're in luck! we're featuring a special wine today! I was excited, and said, hey honey, we're getting something special! She pulls out the bottle and the label reads M Will you marry me? R and the ring was hanging from the bottle! I was stunned--I kept saying, you mean it, you want to marry me? and are you serious? I jumped up and down and clapped and was a nervous wreck! They popped champagne for us and he finally said, well, what's your answer? Of course I said yes! We spent the rest of the day calling friends and family to announce our news and visiting a bunch of wineries toasting our engagement! It was an awesome day!

We're married 6 months and life is great!

I was 19 and i flew with him to michigan to meet his parents for the first time around Christmas time. We went to a very nice restaurant that had a seating area in an old train car. i was videotaping him with my camera and all of a sudden he got this little box out of his pocket and asked me if i wanted to spend the rest of my life with him and i dropped my camera but it was all good...and it was so awesome. of course i said yes and almost a year later we were married in my home state and we will have been married for 2 years this november. :D

My husband (b/f at the time) and I had been together for 5 years when he proposed at a training fire. He is a volunteer firefighter and I am a member of the ladies auxiliary. After lunch, our chief at the time called me up in front of everyone and next thing I know, my guy is on his knee with a ring. He took the ring (in its box of course) into the house we were burning that morning and I kept one of the bricks from the house at the end of the day. My mom ended up using it in a shadow box she made for my wedding with my original engagement ring inside of one the holes. It was very sweet and really special; no one had done that before and I doubt anyone will repeat it. We've been together 8 years in November and married for two of those.

In our apartment - he got on one knee - it was great & unexpected!  We decided to get married & I said we did not need to 'get engaged' due to money... he surprised me by saving money on the side... I loved my ring  and his sentiment so much, I used it as my wedding ring as well!

In February, I got a new job offer and was super excited, so we decided to take an impromptu trip to Jamaica to celebrate the new job.

On our first night there, we went out to a beautiful dinner and then he kept insisting that he needs to go back to our hotel room to change before we take a moonlit walk on the beach. Stupid me, I kept pestering him why he needs to change when he already looked so nice after our fancy dinner! We were walking in the moonlight between palm trees, surrounded by water, and he was very nervous and kept touching his pocket and telling me all these sweet things about our relationship and how much he loves me, until finally, he got down on one knee and proposed!!! It was perfect, very him, and of course I said yes! He said he proposed on our first night so that we could turn the trip into two celebrations instead of one, the new job and our engagement.

Before our trip I was actually feeling a little depressed, because he kept saying that he spent so much money on this trip that I will have to wait for a ring a few more months, but that was just his plan the whole time...turns out he had been designing the ring himself for the past 6 months, and already had it in the house for a month before we decided to go away. I was impressed, he can never usually keep a secret!

On the way home, we even scored a free $200 bottle of champagne on our flight, as congrats for our engagement. =)

We've been engaged for 5.5 months, and have been together for 7 years.

It wasn't anything big and elaborate but I still loved it.  He picked me up from work one day (we already lived together) and in the house he had set up this small scavenger hunt and at the end was my cat Mary and around her collar was my engagement ring.  That was  almost two years ago and we will be married next Oct!

It was my 18th birthday and My boyfriend from a long distance relationship had flown out to celebrate.  I was calling my friends to get everyone together to go to the mall and the movies with us to celebrate and then when I got off the phone he came over to me and got down on one knee and said "I feel so silly doing this but, Tonni, I love you, will you Marry me?" and I squealed and said "yes, yes, yes!"

Then when my friends showed up I couldn't stop showing off my pretty engagement ring everyone was soo excited for me!

We've been engaged now for a year and a half.  we are getting married in October of this year.

My fiance proposed to me in our kitchen, he got down on one knee and everything.  He made sure our engagement "weekend" was so special and romantic.

He proposed the day I moved in with him.  I had just finished university and moved out of residence and into our apartment in a different city.  He came to get me in the morning and brought me pink carnations (the only flower I really like) and when we got to his/our apartment he had tacked little notes all around the apartment about little memories of us, nicknames we have for each other, etc.  It was so sweet and clever.  He even put them in cupboards and drawers so that unpacking wouldn't be stressful for me.

Then I had a nap and when I got up he was making a fancy dinner and told me to get dressed up nice so we could celebrate moving in together.  Before dinner we had wine and watched a DVD slideshow of all these pictures of us from our whole relationship (we had been together 3 years and 10 months at that point, just over 4 years now).  It was very sweet I almost cried.

So we had dinner and it was so romantic.  Then I was playing with our cat in the living room and he yelled in from the kitchen "can you come help me with dessert" and I walked into the kitchen and he was on one knee.  I totally lost it at that point.  And then we called our parents (who knew about everything because he had gone and asked my dad for his blessing and his dad went with him to design the ring). We drank a whole bottle of champaign that night (kind of a mistake), but it was fun!

The next day we went to his parents house for a party he had planned with both our families, to hear about it and show of the gorgeous ring he had designed.  It was a REALLY amazing weekend!

We are getting married next November (2009), the second last weekend, it's a Christmas theme because we both love winter and Christmas!

Well, I was just talking to my boyfriend one day and he goes "one day, when we're married..." and I go "What?! When we're married?!" and he goes "Oh yeah. Wanna marry me?"

We both work at disney and he asked me out by the snow white wishing well so that night that he took me and my little girl to dinner and we went into the park at about 7pm he said lets go for a walk.  He walked me over to the wishing well and my heart started to race, I just knew this was it, and sure thing he got on his knee and asked me. I of course said yes and after placing the ring on my finger he brought out a plastic ring for my little girl just so she would feel special too.

i was 3 months pregnant when we got engaged i knew it was coming so my husband picked up the rings and got down on one knee and gave me my ring its nothing big or fancy its a pink saphire with a white gold band but i wouldnt change it for the world
