  1. cars do very little it would take 15 billion ford explores to create 0.003% of the total amount of co2 that natures puts out.  And there are nowhere near 15 billion cars driven around in the world.  There are only 600 million cars drivin in the world today so they make very little effect.

  2. cars affect the environment because of there carbon monoxide emission. This carbons are taken into the air in the form of O3 which acts as mirrors which blocks or bounce back to earth the escaping sunlight rays that has entered our ozone layer thus causing this sunlights to be trapped within our atmosphere. This later on adds up to global warming.

  3. they release a chemical that makes the atmosphere thicker so when the sun rays get past the atmosphere, hit the surface of the earth and bounce back up. Some do escape the atmosphere but some don't which stay in the earth and it make the ice melt. If the ice melts the polar bears will drown and the coast line will rise dramatically.

  4. Cars effect the enviroment by putting CO2 and speeding up greenhouse gas emissions into the air. It also puts sodium nitrates and sulfur nitrates into the air. When it condences it turns into an acid and well, it rains. The acid kills trees, animals, and fish. The fossil fuels we burn in cars are bad for us.

  5. Don,t know but we could not live with out them

  7. It is not the cars, it is the people driving them.  I have a car, but I mainly use my bike in nice weather and I don't have to wear dressy clothes.  when I need small amounts at the grocery store I either walk or take a bike.  costs less and good for my waistline too.  It cracks me up to see obese people in their SUVs driving a small distance to go buy beer to feed the beer gut or to get that supersized burger and fries.  And they hate me for being nice and slender!  In the winter I am more dependent on cars because I live in Alaska and even sometimes I will walk around on a nice day with snow on the ground.  I have been known to take 5 mile walks in 0 degree weather as long as I have the right gear on.

  8. every drip and piece of rubber etc ends up in our waterways and drinkable water. Also lets not forget all the "road kill".

  9. They pump out air pollution from there exhaust pipe.

They use lots of resources to make.

  10. By releasing CO2 (and other stuff, on a global scale only the CO2 matters but locally the unburned hydrocarbons (less than a percent of what gets burnt), CO and NOx can be pretty nasty (although modern cars with catalytic converters do a pretty good job dealing with them)).

  11. there are a number of ways automobiles affect the environment, including emissions output, the fact that roads need to be built, fuel needs to be made, tires need to be disposed of when they reach the end of their life, lubricating oils, and coolant as well as refrigerant needs to be dealt with properly, etc. with the laws that are currently on the books around the country, these things are being taken care of in an environmentally friendly manner for the most part. yes there are still a few idiots out there that just dump their used oil on the ground, and some fueling stations still have leaky tanks that need attention, and there are mounds of tires that need to be shredded and used for making roads.

  12. Yes especially the ozone which the weather man reports.Looks like they would understand that O3 does not come out of an exhaust of cars. It is NO2 and is not ozone. . It does get bad once in a while in the heavy populated areas. We need to look at population density.
