How Do Hurricanes Get Their Names?

Like Hurricane Gustav..Where Did That Name Come From?

scientits name them alphabetical order

They put out a list every year from A-Z and if it completes Z then it starts with the greek alphabet.  Some names can be used more than once, however, majorly destructive hurricanes such as Katrina, Floyd, and Andrew will never be used again.

maybe the guys name the "girl hurricanes" after a bitter relationship or a bitter break up with a  girl and the  females name the men hurricane  after a  bitter break up with a boy

I think they just go in order starting with "A", as to how they decide what exact name to use i'm not sure
