I have an ipod 5th generation, or ipod video 30GB, and I was just wondering how I could connect it to my Sony portable DVD player so I could stream the videos through my dvd player? The dvd player came with an RCA A/V cable and I was wondering if I could somehow use that, to connect them? What do I need to do or have to connect them? Please describe in detail. Also would the headphone jack in the ipod serve as a connector for the A/V or would that be possible? Please help. Need an answer as soon as possible.

  4. You need the right iPod cable, and your DVD would have to have a video in port.  Check your DVD player documentation, since that might actually be a video out port.  An iPod compatible AV cord is linked below, or you can order the original from Apple for about $50.

  5. I have the identical problem. The "audio-video in" jack on the portable DVD players requires a 1/8" (3.5 mm) 3 stripe male plug (right audio, left audio, video). The other end of the cable needs to be 3 RCA female plugs. With such a connector, the standard iPod AV out cable that ends with 3 male RCA plugs will connect to the 3 female RCA plugs. Some of the newer DVD players come with such a cable - I've seen it and it's exactly as I just described.

I am looking for one online right now and have yet to locate one. If anyone can help, please let us know. Thanks.
