I just want to start over fresh. I can't seem to get this thing working very well so I might as well just start over. I have the dell reinstallation cd, but I don't exactly know how to do it. And will this just install windows, or how it was from the factory?

  1. put in the cd....click open....it should just pop up with a box asking you what you want to do....if now, you need a professional to do it for you....that is your best bet....try these guys www.cctxsmartshop.com

  2. Your disk will reinstall everything to the way you bought it.

You will have to update your Windows and any programs associated with your reinstall. And your personal items will be lost as well.

Backup your music, pix, etc to CD or External drive before you do the "BIG WIPE"

    d;o)

  3. u have to format ur pc... here i give u a software,

    its a simulator

  4. You need a xp os disk or your recovery disk, both will do.

Just put the disk in, and then boot from the disk and follow the options to format and reinstall.

Backup your data if you want it, as it will be lost.

  5. it wont install what you got from the factory, youll be missing a few programs.

Just stick the disk in, it tells you how to recover i lol

  6. Put in the CD and you will have the option to reinstall Windows.  After you reinstall, it won't be like from the factory, you'll be missing a bunch of drivers that you'll have to find yourself.

So you'll need another computer that can access the internet so you can find all the drivers you need. Or you can try to find them beforehand and store them on a USB.

  7. u need a operating system disc

  8. Place the windows boot disc into your computer, turn the system off and restart it.  The disc will run and automatically restore the entire harddrive.  However, make sure you have all the discs you will need to accomplish this task.  Some computers use anywhere from 2 DVDs to 16 cds for the entire process.

  9. Put the Dell disk in your optical drive, turn off your computer.  Turn it on and start hitting F12 to get to the one-time boot menu.  Once you're in the boot menu select the optical drive and the installation program will pretty much talk you through it.

  10. Very simple:

    1) make CD/DVD your first boot device (press del during boot, go to BIOS, change boot order)

    2) insert XP installation disc, restart computer

    3) follow instructions, select C: as the drive where u want to install XP, select "format file sistem using the NTFS file system"

    4) continue XP installation

    done :)
