Question:

How Do I Fix A Stuck Kitchen Cabinet Door?

It really takes effort to open this door. My mom's osteoporosis is so bad the doctor said her bones could break spontanously so I'm afraid she's going to get hurt. I don't know what the latch is called. It is a metal arm with a plastic roller ball in it. When you close the door the roller ball catches on a little metal plate. I've been spraying it with PAM vegetable spray. It works but not for long. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks so much for any help.

Sorry for the poor description, I really don't know this stuff.

  1. I'm not sure about what kind of latch y'all have, but if u use pam to lube something up it causes dirt to stick and the oil itself makes it sticky, so don't use that get some dish liquid and water or something to clean the oil off. then use liquid wrench on it.

  2. Loosen the two screws that attach the catch with the roller balls.  Adjust it away from the hasp.  If it at its full adjustment, loosen the screws on the hinges, and adjust the door away from ball roller.

    Good luck.
