How Do I Fix This PC Game Problem?

I have a PC game that used to work and now it doesn't. It worked one day then the next it didn't. Anyone know how to fix it? Here's what the "warning box" says when I try to run it.

Initialization Failed

Direct3D initialization failed. Possible causes:

Old or corrupt graphics driver

Direct3D improperly installed

Hardware acceleration with the workstation locked.

Had this problem myself. First thing I do is update my drivers, Start>Windows update and hopefully that will fix it. Failing that you may need to do a roll back with your drivers. Easiest way is to System restore to a date prior to when the game started playing up.,
