  1. stretch before and after swimming and you will get more flexable over time


  2. yoga helps ALOT for flexability.  If you don't want to take classes, however, then I would just stretch whenever you get the chance.  stand tall, with your shoulders back.  lift your arms over your head, and imagine your fingers trying to touch the sky...keep breathing deep, and extend your hands as high up as you can.  the key with stretching is to BREATHE, and relax...Don't push your body too hard, otherwise you may injure yourself.  Drink alot of water.  Water is key when you are exerting your muscles.  It helps keep your body running good!  above all else...Swim, Swim, Swim.  Thats the only way I've known to get better.  become a water baby. have fun and be healthy. :)
