How Do I Get My Cat To Stop Bitting?

My cat bites me for no reason, sometimes she is playing and other times not. She also will attack my other very old cat who does not bother anyone! please help me. P.S. i try everything: playing with her, spraying her with a water bottle, leaving her alone, giving her attention, even more!!!

Hi Katie... it will take some patience on your part to retrain her inappropriate biting.  Anytime she bites, continue to ignore her as soon as she behaves moments later, reward her with attention/treats or play time. Only shower her with attention when she is behaving and ignore the bad behaviour.   The idea is to get her to learn that biting provides no benefits.  Keep in mind this does take a lot of patience and considerable amount of time.  If she is a kitten they do grow out of the behaviour, but you will have to help her along.  If she an adult cat doing this, it will take much longer and consistency on your part.  

Anytime she bothers the elderly cat distract her to come over to you to play with a toy.  Again, this must be done consistently and repeatedly in order to help her understand that the biting serves no purpose.
